Last summer, one of our local radio stations, WBUR, ran a feature entitled “How Boston Became 'The Best Place In The World' To Launch A Biotech Company” (WBUR, June 19th 2017). The article described the evolution of our unique infrastructure – physical, cultural and sociological – that resulted in Boston being THE place where ideas are catalyzed and made into reality. But what does it really take to be an innovator? unConference: The Economics of Being Female

Posted by Jaime Luna on Oct 23, 2017 9:30:00 AM
Imagine going to a conference designed completely to meet your needs. That’s what an unConference is. This unConference will feature keynote speakers to get you thinking  about the economics of being female and how looking at the challenge from an economic view can positively impact your career. I n true unConference fashion, it has no agenda until the participants create it. You will decide what topics will be discussed by pitching solutions to the crowd for further discussions in breakout groups. You will share ideas, problem solve, hear multiple perspectives, and challenge the status quo with creative solutions. There is great diversity and experience in the Boston area and this is wonderful opportunity for you to share expertise and exchange innovative ideas in a supportive environment. This is self-directed learning at its best. The content is relevant and exciting because the agenda is created for you, and by you, in the moment.

"Wonder Woman is psychological propaganda for the new type of woman who should, I believe, rule the world” – William Moulton Marston, creator of Wonder Woman

Wonder Woman did not appear out of nowhere. Accordingly to the legend, she was created and mentored by her mother and was supported by a tribe of strong Amazon role models. Wonder Woman's Amazonian training helped her to develop a wide range of extraordinary skills and tools to help her in her quests for justice. Similarly, engaging with the Amazons of STEM leadership will help us develop the skills and tools required to succeed in our quests for obtaining leadership positions in the STEM arena.
